How do I know how many Chinese apps I have on my phone?

If you are wondering how to check if an app is Chinese, here check this simple way.

  1. Head to Google Play Store on your Android phone or App Store on an iOS device.

  3. You will find a header named 'Developer contact' right below ratings and reviews.

Chinese apps have been under the scanner of the Indian government over security and privacy concerns for quite some time now. Although some of them (59 apps to be precise) have already been banned in the country and removed from Google Play Store and Apple App Store, there are still numerous Chinese-made applications that we use or are available to download in India.

The government has reportedly also suspended 47 more apps of the Chinese-origin, which are clones of those earlier banned apps. But, there hasn't been any confirmation from the officials and the list of these apps is unknown at the moment.

The app ban order had earlier claimed that these apps are"prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, the security of the state and public order".
